Either you have your own company with several employees, if your business is only you, or if you are hired by a company, in any of these cases you have a personal brand.
You have prestige, people know how you are, your characteristics, and the value you have for them. You are the owner of your personal brand and if you were not aware of it, it would be good to start managing it because if you do it well, it will help you a lot in your business or work.

What is “Personal Brand”?
Your personal brand is what others think and talk about you when you are not present.
Your customers might purchase your services or products because of who you are. And you will likely acquire products or services from a company because of the person representing that company.
This is something that happens on all levels, from small businesses to large companies. Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos, Donald Trump, and much more; they all have their personal brand professionally developed, they have people helping on this because they know the benefits.
An example of this is Steve Jobs. Remember when he joined Apple for the second time, his image was important to improve the image of Apple when those days was not quite good.
One more example, the current brand of Bill Gates who has the image of being the greatest altruist in the world. This benefits not only Microsoft, his company, but also his foundation and his own personal work.
I can continue giving several more examples, but what I’m looking for is you be aware that your personal brand is there, whether you want it or not, whether you seek it or not, and is waiting for you to take control of it.
First steps to take control of your personal brand.
You have already taken the first step and it is to be aware that you are a brand. Imagine yourself as a product or service the public can acquire. Yes I know, it sounds impolite, but in a certain way, this is true.
Use your personal image to differentiate yourself from others.
There is no other person like you, show the value you can give and makes you unique. Do it sincerely so the public can see that you are trustworthy.
Your name is synonymous with what?
Define what image you want to project, keep in mind you have to magnify what others value in you. Your public will look for you only because of the problems or needs you help to solve.
Look for simplicity.
Simplicity is related to lack of complication. After an analysis, you can determine in a few words (no more than 5) what defines you and which you want to be identified, those words will be your guide.
These words are not immovable concepts, but can evolve with you.
Meet the expectation of your brand.
What your brand is doing is generating an expectation, a promise. That expectation is what you have to fulfill.
What you do, what you say, and what you think must coincide; otherwise, you would be incongruous, which leads to confusion and therefore to distrust.
Establish who are you not.
Just as you have to identify who are you for your target, you also have to identify who are you not.
This will take you to define your actions and help you to make decisions; Above all, it will prepare you to say “no” to what moves you away from your goals.
Do not simulate something that you are not.
It is normal to feel insecure and distrust at first, but if you start acting as what you are not, sooner or later you will not be able to continue with the simulation and you will end up showing those inconsistencies.
Every day you do your best to be a better version of yourself, but you must remain you, and not another person.
Give reasons to be admired.
If possible, get involved in some valuable cause. Share useful tips for your public, and from time to time give your customers something they value and without waiting for it.
Maybe you want to reserve your domain name.
Maybe you do not need it now, but you have to think about the future if you want to build your brand, it will be very useful for you.
Realistically, at this moment your name may be already taken, in which case you will have to be creative to find a domain that involves your name and you like it.
The good news is that if your name with the extension .com is not available, you have many more extensions to choose from. However, your domain .com keeps been recommended option.
